The protection is currently active and will remain in place for the next few hours/days.

Datacenter buildings have been inspected and there are no issues to report at this time. All datacenter operations remain stable and working under normal conditions.
1 year, 7 months ago Info The Washington, DC metro area has been warned of potentially severe winter storm conditions that may start Friday mid-day and extend over the weekend. Our datacenters in Northern Virginia have redundant power distribution infrastructure and also have backup generators and battery systems. Datacenter facility staff have completed their physical inspection of the buildings and infrastructure. The Blackboard Hosting team is taking extra precautions to ensure continuity of service by having additional staff physically available at each of our datacenter facilities in Northern Virginia, as well as engaging our international resources in case of power loss at our offices. We will provide additional updates if needed on the status page.

Unfortunately they don't have an ETR at the moment. Managed Hosting and Self Hosted clients based in South East Asia that use Crocodoc and Safeassign might experience slow response times and other performance issues.

Multiple clients have reported network issues when accessing their MH Learn systems. The event in SIN1 started at 3:10 pm SGT (+8 GMT) and was resolved at 3:35 pm SGT (+8 GMT). The two incidents were caused by DDOS attacks, mitigation steps were put in place to block the attack and will be reviewed in the next 72 hours.

Although the datacenter will be off of UPS power and on direct city power for approximately 2.5 hours, we do not anticipate that there will be any service interruption or client impact. 2 years, 2 months ago Maintenance We previously informed you that on Saturday, June 6, 2015 between the hours of 12:01 AM EST and 12:00 PM EST that our Datacenter Provider would be performing an emergency break fix power maintenance at the VA2 datacenter. The Datacenter Provider re-evaluated the preparation time that they would require and has moved the maintenance window to 8 PM on Saturday through 8 AM Sunday EST. The work will still be performed in coordination with our Datacenter Operations team and again, we do not anticipate that there will be any interruption in service. However, we are keeping you updated on the maintenance plans in the event that unforeseen issues arise during the maintenance window that could result in brief periods of service interruption. We apologize for informing you of this change with short notice but the Datacenter Provider is delaying the break fix operation to further minimize the chance of a service interruption. Due to the nature of the work being performed by the provider, additional measures have been taken for redundancy in power to avoid any interruption. However, in event of an unforeseen issue during the maintenance window, brief period of service interruption cannot be entirely ruled out.

Cloud Services is in the process of confirming the root cause of the service interruption which occurred after router firmware was updated. The same upgrade has been performed successfully at several other Blackboard data centers.

The outage was determined to be the result of a newtork card failure.

2 years, 4 months ago Information At 9:42 CET on March 27, 2015 the metro Amsterdam area experienced a widespread power outage that affected the Blackboard AMS data enter. The datacenter immediately fell over to emergency power without any service interruption to the Blackboard applications hosted at the datacenter. Power was restored to the public grid at 12:51 CET; however, the datacenter remained on emergency power until it was confirmed that he public power grid was stable. At 14:09 CET the datacenter was taken off of emergency power and placed on the public power grid. At no time during the loss of the public power grid should any Blackboard client have experienced a service interruption.
2 years, 4 months ago Up The power outage in the Amsterdam area is now resolved. The data center is back running on mains power however we will continue to monitor the situation closely. No client impact was experienced throughout.

It is not anticipated that there will be a service interruption of the Blackboard applications running at the data center, even if the outage continues for an extended period of time.

2 years, 9 months ago Up The DDOS attack that caused a service interruption in the Amsterdam datacenter between 2:02pm - 2:35pm CET has been resolved by putting additional mitigation procedures in place. All services have now been restored.
2 years, 9 months ago Intermittent Problems The Amsterdam datacenter is currently under a DDOS volumetric attack. Approximately 50% of the Learn clients serviced by this data center are experiencing intermittent disruptions in service. We are working to correct the problem now.
